Bring up to a boil and light boil for an hour. Adding more water if needed.Remove the ham hock, I give it a rinse under cold water to cool it down quicker. Separate all the meat from the bone and chop up roughly.Put all your ham hock back in, stir, remove bay leaves and serve.We don’t eat enough beans in this house, it was enjoyed by everyone. I love making homemade soups! I have the PC Choice brand but this is about the same.
