I’ve tried a lot of different recipes. For some reason I always go back to this one. We love it. This recipe was on the box of my bean Crock I bought 17 years ago and I still have it.We got a slightly different taste this time cause we cooked them over the fire. They were incredible!1LBSb yellow and white dry beans1/2LBS salted pork1/2CUP molasses2 onions4 cups cold water1TSP each of salt & dry mustard1/4 teaspoon black pepperSoak beans overnight in water. Rinse. Throw the beans in your cauldron along with everything else. Make sure beans are covered with water. Cover. They take 7-8 hours in the oven. However over the open fire they are done within 2 hours.Cook uncovered for the last little bit.Lucky’s gotta be close!Stirring frequently checking on them.Mmmmm hahaLook at that sun, beautiful outside. I’m so grateful getting so spend the day with just hubby and I.Look at that dark rich color. Your going to love this recipe!
