2CUPS all purpose flour 1/2CUP cocoa 1TBSP baking powder 2TBSP granulated sugar 1TSP salt 6TBSP butter or margarine 3/4CUP milk, any works 1/2 milk chocolate chunks
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl, you can sift them if you want. I don’t bother. Add in your butter until mixture becomes all crumbly. Put chocolate chunks in, pour milk in and combined well til mixture comes together in a ball.Preheat oven to 425F. Put dough onto flour surface and roll out. You can roll out to an inch thick and use cookie cutter or glass to cut out biscuits.
I roll these ones out thinner to about 1/2inch thick and double them up ontop of each other in the pan. When cooked makes them easier to pull apart to smoother butter on.Bake roughly 12 minutes, depending on your oven. These are also excellent with some peanut butter. Let us know what you think. I know we love them in our family!! I doubled this recipe when I made these yesterday.
These are so much fun and much enjoyed in our family. Kids get excited when we make them. Who doesn’t want a Poptart once in a while?! 2CUPS pie dough 1CUP strawberry jam 1/2CUP blended or mashed strawberries 1beat egg for egg wash 1/2CUP icing sugar Roughly 1/2TSP milk Sprinkles, optional Roll out your pie dough on a well floured work area. To about a quarter inch thick. We use one of my cookie cutters from my gingerbread house. A knife or pizza cutter works just fine to cut rectangles if you don’t have cutter. Mix your jam and mashed strawberries together.Preheat oven at 400F. Depending on how big your rectangles are we put a good 1-2TBSP of filling on. We put a tad of egg wash around edges, put another rectangular pie dough ontop and pinch edges all around with a fork.
Place them all on a cookie sheet with either a non stick sheet or parchment works good too. Brush all with an egg wash, we use a toothpick and put 2-3 holes threw the tops of dough. So steam can release when cooking. Also helps them from not busting open when cooking. Bake 400F about 25 minutes til starting to get a golden color.Mix your icing sugar and milk in a bowl. Until you get a nice thicker icing. You can use a piping bag, we just use a ziplock sandwich bag and cut the corner out. Works great.
We pipe a few then sprinkle the sprinkles, then continue over and over until done. Please let us know what you think.
