These cookies are excellent!Anyone else do special things for their husband in the kitchen? My husband loves it, makes him feel special hehehe I made this one cookie for him almost 10 years ago but I still make him special stuff all the time :0)
I like doing stuff like this. Making something into something new. I got some lady fingers at our local Italian store for 49cents a bag!! I used 3 bags here. I had some crushed canes canes and some shredded coconut off to the side. I used a double broiler to melt some chocolate. This is a Christmas Chocolate chip blend that we buy at the Bulk Barn, their delicious.Once melted we dip the vanilla cookies in the chocolate, some we make sandwiches with, some we put chocolate just on the ends or just on the tops. some we top with coconut, and or candy canes. Some we put candy canes and or coconut inside the cookies with chocolate. You could use a variety of toppings here. Our favorites are candy cane and coconut. They don’t last long in our house. Great way to turn a vanilla cookie into something new!
The day we cooked this in the house it was freezing in Alberta. Our indoor Nest thermostat said -34 outside. We also had a windchill ontop of that. It was a great day for soup and homemade bread!
3CUPS broccoli, fresh or frozen 3CUPS potatoes, skin on or off 1 large or 2 small diced onions 1-3 cloves of garlic, we use 5-6 cloves love our garlic 2 sliced celery stalks Chicken stock 3CUPS is best, water & bouillon is fine. Cover remainder with water. Salt, pepper
I don’t bother to saute the onions. I throw everything in a dutch oven. And bring up to a boil.
Once vegetables are all cooked and tender I use my emersion blender to blend it all smooth. I take a block of parmesan cheese and turn it into to bits. 1/2CUP Cheese And cut up some green onions. I stir in the cheese to all mixed and melted in and some green onions. And top with remaining of green onions. We top the bowls with some more cheese and green onions. Peek a boo hehehI have the PC Choice brand but this is just about the same.

Turkey Brine: 6 quarts water 1 pound kosher salt 1CUP Molasses 2CUPS 1CUP soya sauce 1TBSP each crushed chilis and sage add large bunch fresh thyme 2 heads garlic crushed 2 lemon zested Put all the above ingredients, in a stock pot and bring to a light boil. boil for a couple minutes. Pour 5 pounds ice in a bucket/pot large enough to hold turkey & brine, place turkey in and pour brine over turkey. Leave for Almost 12 hours. I do close to18hours. Take turkey out, pat dry removing as much liquid from turkey as possible.Deep fry as per your turkey fryer instructions. Everyone’s turkeys are different sizes, so they all cook for different timesIts so worth it, look at that turkey! Have you ever deep fried a turkey before?
