You can just use salt/pepper on your chops. I used a montreal chicken spice on them. Pan fry til browned on both sides. They don’t have to be fully cooked and can finish off in gravy. Remove from pan, set aside.
Add back to pan your onions & mushroom mixture. I put 1/3CUP flour in. Mix well, cook couple minutes. Then I had about 1 1/2CUPS of beef stock (or water and bouillon) bring up to a boil, stirring, til it’s nicely thickened. Then I add in the 1/2CUP caramelized onions (optional but highly recommend). And pork chops back to finish off on a light boil. You can keep chops whole. I prefer to cut them up and add them back to the gravy. Serve with some mashed and a side of greens!
Now you have to take that sticky rice and pound the crap out of it. Great way to get some frustration out. I don’t have a big enough mortal & pestle or a good food processor at the moment (in process of moving!) I used a bowl and my rolling pin lol. Once I pounded it to a gooey glob, I added eggs, & rice flour. Pounded some more, til all rice bits are gone. Takes a little time and effort.
I had a bowl with warm water close by. The rice is sticky you need to use water on your hands to form cakes. Form all the cakes to the size you prefer. I like 2 bite size, however some like large ones.
I had two small plates one with some rice Seasoning and one with sesame seeds. I smooched some of the rice cakes into the plates to coat top of cake. Doing both flavours separately.
Pan fry in a little vegetable oil and sesame oil til they get some brown color on each side.
3rd time being cooked! Now they go in your steamer. I don’t do it to all them but some, I brush with soya sauce before steaming.
Steam about 20minutes. We love these!Love this rice steamer!
I cut up 8small potatoes with a mandolin.Threw some vegetable oil & Cajun spice on them. Mixed well. You can use any spice you prefer.Pulling apart all pieces of potatoes so everything gets coated nicely. I took 4-5 slices of potatoes and stacked them. Made rows of layered potato chips. Continued til done.I baked at 440F about 30-40minutes.Til nice and crisp like a chip. You should not need to flip them!
You can serve them as a side as is, as a snack with some dips, add some bacon, cheese, green onion and sour cream to them. Or
Make Poutines! With some cheese curds & gravy. These are awesome
