Flavoured Marshmallows

My kids love these McCormick candied marshmallows! I wanted to figure out how to do them at home.
I think I came pretty darn close, the kids were amazed!
Mini marshmallows
Icing sugar
Water
Food color
flavoured extract oil
Dehydrator
Make an icing with icing sugar and water. Not to thin but not to thick either. Depending on how many flavours your making you’ll need that many bowls. I just used soup bowls with about 1/2-3/4CUP of icing in each. Add a drop or two of food coloring to each one. I tried to match colors with their flavours. Add couple drops of your extract flavour in each
Get all your dehydrating trays out. I used dehydrating sheets and all my 6 trays.
Now take your marshmallows and start dunking them in icing, I use a fork for this. I had only did about 4-6 mini marshmallows at once. Use fork to lift them out making sure all excess icing falls off, back into bowl. Lay them out on your lined trays. They shouldn’t have a thick coating on them. Just a nice coating of icing over the marshmallows. I do each bowl/flavour at a time then move to the next.
Dehydrate 125 for about 8 hours. Depending on your dehydrator. Let cool before eating. The icing should be nice and firm on outside but chewy, and still a soften marshmallow inside.

These are the brand of flavouring I used. I bought from the bulk Barn in Canada. These tastes excellent and you don’t need much!
Love our dehydrator. It’s half the price compared to the leading brands!
