Well we don’t normally buy stuff like this but hubby really wanted to try this KD Shaker from Costco. We don’t buy KD as we always make homemade but thought why not give it a try. Bag of pasta of your choice Veggies are endless you can put in. We used broccoli, carrots, asparagus, corn, red & green onions, & jalapenos 1/4CUP KD Shaker mix 1CUP shredded cheese of your choice 1/2CUP each butter or margarine and milk 2 heaping TBSP of ricotta Parmesan to top We cut up broccoli, a carrot, some asparagus and added corn all to big pot of water. Bring to a boil. Then we add pasta to same pot. Throw some salt in and boil til done.
Drain and pour into a big bowl, I reserve and add about 1/2CUP noodle water to noodles. Then we add everything else in and mix well. We love the crunch of the onions and jalapenos it also adds great flavour.
We reserve some jalapenos, red & green onions for the top. Then sprinkle some Parm on. The kids devoured their plates!!
These are great! Our family loves them. Cut vegetables of your choice, we like to use Broccoli, Carrots, Onions, Mushrooms, Zucchini and Sweet Potatoes 2CUPS flour 400ml ice water 2eggs 1/2 cornstarch 1/2TSP salt
Mix flour, ice water & eggs in a bowl til combined. Put in fridge til oil is ready. Mix cornstarch and salt in another bowl and set aside. I say we deep fried about 8CUPS of Vegetable with this mix.Take all your veggies and give them a toss in the cornstarch mixture. Dust off excess cornstarch. Get your oil to 350F.
Throw a bunch of vegetables in the batter and I use a fork to mix them all around very well til they are all coated. I also use a fork to transfer them to the oil. I deep fry the same vegetables at same time.
I like to lay out on cooling racks with paper towel under them. Let’s all the excess oil soak down into the paper.
These can be reheated well and are still great. In a 425F for about 15minutes. Do you make tempura at home?
The day we cooked this in the house it was freezing in Alberta. Our indoor Nest thermostat said -34 outside. We also had a windchill ontop of that. It was a great day for soup and homemade bread!
3CUPS broccoli, fresh or frozen 3CUPS potatoes, skin on or off 1 large or 2 small diced onions 1-3 cloves of garlic, we use 5-6 cloves love our garlic 2 sliced celery stalks Chicken stock 3CUPS is best, water & bouillon is fine. Cover remainder with water. Salt, pepper
I don’t bother to saute the onions. I throw everything in a dutch oven. And bring up to a boil.
Once vegetables are all cooked and tender I use my emersion blender to blend it all smooth. I take a block of parmesan cheese and turn it into to bits. 1/2CUP Cheese And cut up some green onions. I stir in the cheese to all mixed and melted in and some green onions. And top with remaining of green onions. We top the bowls with some more cheese and green onions. Peek a boo hehehI have the PC Choice brand but this is just about the same.
2CUPS half & Half milk (use cream if you like a rich sauce) 2CUPS parmesan cheese 2-3sliced boneless skinless chicken breasts (can’t use thighs if you prefer) 1TBSP each oil & butter Salt, pepper, crushed Chilis and pinch of nutmeg 2TBSP flour Garlic 2-6 cloves (we used 6) 3CUPS steamed Broccoli Spaghetti noodles
Take the oil, butter, and chicken in a hot pan. Pan fry couple minutes then add in the garlic, cook til chickens done. Then I add in my steamed broccoli, then flour. Mix well, cook a couple minutes.
Add in your milk/cream and cheese. Stirring frequently til it’s nicely thickened.
My family loves this dish!
Add your cooked, drained pasta to a big bowl, add in your alfredo sauce, mix, serve immediately. I was out of Fettuccine, spaghetti to the rescue! Tasted just as good.Love our daily Lodge user!
These have become pretty fun for us. I made a plate for kids to share and for Tim and I to share. Use heat safe soup bowls. thinly sliced beef-your choice, we used top sirlion 2TBSP sauce- your choice, I put soya sauce, water, hoisin, oyster sauce, chilis, sesame seeds & green onions. Top with vegetables-your choice, I used broccoli, broccoli stems & water chestnuts Top that with beat eggs 2 per bowl and green onionsMix meat with sauce on bottom of bowl. I didn’t do anything nice to this meat but you can place it nicer in the bowl on the bottom, which will result in looking nice when it’s flipped out. Beat eggs. Prep rest of Vegetables
After your meat is in there all sauced up. Add your Vegetables, in layers if using different ones. Top with beat eggs, and green onion. Thai Chilis optional as always! Put them in your steamer trays and steam for 20minutes.
I serve these dumped on-top of sticky rice. Remove bowls from steamer and I take butter knife/chop stick and loosen the top edge all around the egg.I like to mold my rice too. Makes it look pretty. Gently tilt bowl over rice and flip out.We like this bamboo steamer
