BBQ Calazones
Use your favorite pizza dough recipe or buy store bought. I added spices in with my dough this time.
I make 4 large dough balls. I roll them out, and place a big handful on pizza filling on. I flip dough over, and pinch together.
Place in calazone on pan and let rise again.
Beat egg, onion flakes, garlic powder, parsley, & crushed Chili’s.
Our oven happen to be down this week awaiting for a part to arrive. We practically BBQ’d everyday. I find they work well cooked on a heavy pan/stone on bbq.
Thai Chili Chocolate Chip Cookie
Top your favorite chocolate chip cookie dough recipe with cut up Thai chilis. Bake, cut, don’t even bother to cool. Try these puppies out :0)
Cast iron Collection (August 2019)
We love Cast Iron. Canadian Cast Iron, American Cast Iron, Asian Cast iron. Doesn’t matter where it comes from. I love it. Were not a collector of any certain pieces or names. We don’t want to have 20 of the same pan size either. We do like the old pieces but we like our modern cheapos just the same! We are huge thrift shoppers, we always like a bargain. My husband Tim has only gotten to restore a few older pieces, he loved it. He can not wait to refinish more!
Can you find him?! Where’s Lucky’s? Lol
Stovetop Chicken wings & pan seared Tilapia
I started with the chicken wings. Sometimes. I just like doing them stovetop! I pan fry them in single layer on both sides til browned. Repeat batches til all done. Then add all back in, add chopped ginger, garlic, few TBSP of soya sauce, 1/2CUP water & 1TBSP hoisin. Cover, boil, 30 minutes. I thicken this with a cornstarch/water mixture.
The green beans I put them in that pan just covered with water and boil til almost cooked. I drain water. And add about 2TBSP of this sauce. I make this sauce ahead this stores in my fridge til needed.
1TSP Szchewan peppercorns
1/4CUP soy sauce
3TBSP honey
1TBSP sesame oil
1TBSP rice wine vinegar
1TBSP Chinese cooking wine or mirin
3 garlic cloves, finely minced
2TSP fresh ginger, finely minced
1TBSP garlic chili paste more for more spicy or 1TSP chili flakes
1/2TSP Chinese five spice
Pan fry beans and sauce for a couple minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Tilapia was descaled, coated in a flour, salt pepper mixture. And pan fried in cast iron pan til browned and crisp. Then I put in oven to finish off
Lucky saids do you see me? Sitting pretty way back there lol. He just loves his photo taken.
