Love our dehydrator. It’s half the price to leading brands but works just as good!
We eat a ton of garlic in this house! Atleast 5LBS a month. When I find it cheap, I stock up and dehydrate them in a variety of different ways. We love roasted garlic, adds great flavour to recipes. Roast your garlic, your way! You can dehydrate cloves whole. They just take a while. I prefer to take a fork and smooch them all down.Dehydrate on dehydrating sheets. At 135F about 14-20 hours, I flip when about 10 hours in. once done let cool. Break into pieces, and store in air tight container.Love our dehydrator. This is one of the things I love to do. Is make homemade powder/spices. Cant get any fresher then that! This is one of my favorite ones. I add this to a lot of stuff and you don’t need to use much! We bought a case of peppers for 1$ ya I know 1$ for 25lbs. We bought 4 boxes lol. I canned up a lot of pickled peppers! There was no way I was throwing away all the tops, insides, scraps. They went on dehydrating sheets and into the Dehydrating they go. They smaller your pieces, the less you have the less time it will take. These were thicker and a lot of trays. I dehydrated at 135F about 14hours.Once dried and cooled. I take a coffee/spice grinder and grind down to a powder. I store in mason jar. I combine a few of my powders to make different spices. Excellent pepper flavourLove our dehydrator. It’s half the price to leading brands but works just as good!
Celery, celery, celery, what can I say, this vegetable fluctuates so much in price it astounds me. One week it will be 97cents, next week it’s 7$, what the heck? I want my celery but I can’t nor would pay that! So we buy in bulk when it’s super cheap $5 for a 24count case! I dehydrate them cubed, sliced, large for stirfrys and small for soups. Celery is practically all water so they literally turn to nothing once Dehydrated and take up to next to no room.Dehydrate 135F for about 12-14hours. 24 whole celery fits in 2 quart jars, wow! We just love DehydratingLove our dehydrator! It’s half the price to leading brands but works just as good!
