The kids love helping out in the kitchen. I love when they want to learn new skills. Our filling ingredients: 5CUPS mashed potatoes 3CUPS cheddar 2CUPS finely chopped ham (can use bacon) Salt, pepper 1/2CUP dehydrated minced onions All mixed together very well in a big bowl. Love this perogie maker we purchased it brand new at value village for 2.99$.
I divide the dough into four pieces. Roll out each piece 1/8inch thickness. I use a perogie maker but you can just cut out circles with a cookie cutter or glass. Put about 1 good TBSP filling in each perogie. Use the perogie maker to roll another layer of dough over top. This maker works pretty awesome. If your just using cookie cutter flip over top and pinch all around to close up.
Place in boiling water for just a couple minutes. When they float to the top they are done. You can eat them just like this, or go the next level and fry them up like we do. You can fry them with butter, or oil or non stick spray whatever you prefer. When we make these we freeze lots. I lay out a single layer on a silicone sheet on a cookie pan and place in freezer. Takes about 30 minutes or so. Then I throw them in a freezer bag. They do not stick to each other this way. I do not precook the ones I freeze.
The Finished Perogies After Being Fried
We like sour cream and some green onions with ours. Everyone is different, the toppings are endless what you can have. What do you like on your perogies?

This is one of my favorite bagels to make! Jalapeno Cheddar bagel toasted Extra old Cheddar (red container, love this stuff!) Thinly sliced cucumbers, & red onion Slice of ham, or turkey, or fish, or egg Top with extra old white, salt and pepper!
Tim enjoys this for lunch. The kids love it too! I love raw red onions. What do you like to put on your bagels? Were always looking for something new!
These are literally the best biscuits we have ever had. Load in the ham and cheese and I bet you’ll love them too! 1/2CUP minced onion 1TBSP butter or margarine 2CUPS flour 1TBSP baking powder 1TSP salt 1/2TSP baking soda 1/4CUPS butter diced 1CUPS buttermilk or milk 1CUPS roughly diced cooked ham 1CUP sharp cheddar or extra old 2TBSP butter, meltedLine a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine onion and butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook until tender but not browned, about 5 minutes. Cool. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda, add butter and mix with your fingers until crumbly in texture. Add the onions, buttermilk, ham and cheese, stirring in with a spatula until just incorporated. I put the big ball of dough down on a well floured surface and Pat down with my hands. I use a glass to cut biscuits out. Arrange close together on the baking sheet for soft biscuits, or spread them apart for crisper biscuits. Brush with hot melted butter. Bake 450F 15-20minutes til Golden Brown. I triple this batch when making them. They freeze well. And are excellent to have on hand when needed. After I’ve cooked a large ham. I like to make these. These are great when done with big chunks of ham with lots of cheese.

About an hour. While we’re waiting , kids arrived home from school and you all know what they wanted?! What’s for snack today? S’mores it is. Did there faces ever light up!There shouldn’t be much stock left but still enough to just cover the rest of stuff. Add cut potatoes, corns, ham & green onions. Boil down til potatoes done and it’s nicely thickened. I don’t add flour and or cornstarch. This one naturally thickens for me. We were cooking lots of stuff over the fire this day and I was onto recipe two so I needed to transfer this soup into a different pot as I needed my cauldron.
