Why not try to make some pork and shrimp dim sum? Just follow the steps below to get started.
You will need 1 Package of wonton wrappers to make this recipe Combine the following ingredients and mix very well: Half pound of ground pork Half pound of chopped raw shrimp 2-3 green onions sliced 1-2TBSP diced ginger 1TBSP soya sauce 2TBSP Chinese cooking wine 1TBSP sesame oil
Use thinly sliced carrots for the bottom of dim sums so they don’t stick to the steamer.
I like to lay out a bunch of wonton wrappers at a time. Place about 1TBSP of the filling in middle of each. I bring up all the sides and smoosh it all along outside of meat. Next, place each one on top of a carrot in the steamer.
Steam for 10-15 minutes. We love these!
You can get good prices on the ingredients in this recipe at your local Superstore or Costco grocery store.
This recipe will show you how to make some fried wontons. Our family loves it when we serve these.
You will need 1 Package of Wonton wrappers Combine the following ingredients: Half pound ground pork Half pound chopped raw shrimp 2-3 green onions sliced 1-2TBSP diced ginger 1TBSP soya sauce 2TBSP cooking wine 1TBSP sesame oil Mix all together very well.
I like to lay out a bunch of wonton wrappers at once. I make a glue with flour and water. Put little bit of the “glue” in each of the corners. I place about 1TSP + filling in each. I don’t make mine fancy lol, I just bring all my corners up together and smooch them together haha
Deep fry at 375F for about 5-6 minutes. Turn frequently while frying. Fry until nicely browned.
Lay out onto paper towel to remove excess oil. We like these dipped in sweet chili sauce. Great wonton recipe!
I used pork in this, you can have it straight veggies/egg, or other meats and or seafood. Beat 2 eggs. This is a thinly sliced pork chop. About 20 pieces in here. I used my homemade garlic chili sauce. You can add in any sauce you like. About 2TBSP. All put in a soup bowl.
Pick your vegetables. We used 1 thinly sliced mushroom & some thinly sliced broccoli stems. Do you eat the broccoli stems or discard them? You can literally use like any veg. you want.
Pour the beat eggs on, and top with cut green onions. Steam in steamer for about 20-30minutes
We love sticky rice, it’s a tad bit expensive but worth it! Take your steamed sticky rice. I like to use a molding plate / dish to mold my rice in the shape I want. I just spray some non stick spray on and put rice in. Giving pressure on rice so it’s nice and firm. Once formed flip out onto serving plate.I take the egg bowl running a butter knife along the top of egg and bowl so it releases nicely when tipped upside down.Sauce should pour down over rice. Top with more green onions if you wish. Chilis as always, are optional. This can be changed up so much with different sauces, veggies & meat or seafoods. Simple. Fast. Delicious meal. Hubby and I like to share! It’s so cold in Alberta, it was enjoyed.Love these steamers
